Grocery and supermarket franchises in India are typically offered under one of three models. Understanding the difference matters more than comparing brand names, because it determines how much control and profit you actually have.
You invest in the store and run it yourself, day to day, under the brand's format, supply chain and systems. This gives you the most operational control and typically the largest share of profit, but it also means you are hands-on in the business, not a passive investor.
You provide the capital and the store, but the franchisor's own team runs daily operations. You receive a fixed return or a share of revenue without being involved in day-to-day management — a more passive option, usually with a lower profit share in exchange for lower involvement.
The franchisor owns and runs the store directly. This isn't a franchise investment option for entrepreneurs at all — it is how brands operate their own flagship or company-run locations.
For most first-time franchise investors in India who want to actively build and run a business — not just hold an investment — FOFO is the model that offers the most ownership, the most profit potential, and the most say in how the store is run, while still giving you the format, supply chain and support of an established brand.
Grocery Select operates on a FOFO basis. See current investment plans and store formats or start your franchise enquiry.
